Overview

Lexxio accounts use email and password, through Lexxio's own sign-in system. There's no Google, Apple, or other social sign-in option right now.

Where to create an account

New accounts are created on lexxio.ai, not inside the app. The desktop and mobile apps only handle signing in to an account you already have. If you don't have one yet, head to the website first, then come back to the app to sign in.

When you actually need one

On desktop, an account isn't required just to import and read your own books. You can add EPUBs and read them without ever signing in. You'll need an account for AI features (translation, dictionary lookups), for credits, and for anything involving sync across devices.

On mobile, signing in is required before you can use the app at all. Mobile has no offline-only local mode the way desktop does, so there's no way to skip the sign-in screen.

For what the sign-in screen in Settings actually shows once you're in, see What does Settings > Account do?
