Finding your starting level
"Find my level" is a short, offline quiz that suggests a starting reading level for a language you're just starting or adding.

Overview
If you're not sure what level to start reading at, Lexxio can suggest one. Tap "Find my level" during setup, or later from "Add language," and answer a short quiz. It takes a couple of minutes and needs no internet connection.
The quiz is only offered for languages that have one built. Not every language does yet. If you don't see "Find my level" as an option, pick a level yourself, you can always change it per book later. See Choosing a reading level for one book.
When you'll see it
- First-time setup. An alternative to picking a level yourself for your first language.
- Adding a second (or third) language. The same quiz appears in the "Add language" flow, for whichever language you're adding.
Step by step
- Background questions. You'll answer 3 to 4 quick questions: have you studied this language before, can you already read it, are you immersed in it day to day, and sometimes a question about a related language you already know. These set a starting point and a ceiling. If you say you're brand new to the language, the quiz caps your result at a low level, even if you go on to answer every following question correctly.
- Adaptive questions. Up to 8 questions follow, each one harder or easier depending on your last answer. Get one right, and the next question moves up a level. Get one wrong, and it moves down. The quiz settles on a level once you've answered two right with one wrong just above them.
- Your result. You'll land on a result screen with three options: "Sounds right" to accept it, "See all levels" to go pick manually (with the quiz's suggestion already filled in), or "Retake" to run the quiz again.

The quiz places you at Simple, Guided, Natural, Advanced, or Faithful, the same five levels used everywhere else in Lexxio. See What are Reading Levels? for what each one means.
Tips
- The whole quiz runs offline. Nothing you answer is sent anywhere.
- Your placement isn't permanent or global. It sets your starting point, but you can change the level for any individual book at any time. See Choosing a reading level for one book.
